By earning CMMC Level 1 compliance, Cogility reinforces its dedication to maintaining a secure digital environment and protecting sensitive government information.

Cogility is proud to announce that we have officially obtained Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 Security Compliance from the U.S. Department of War (DoW). This important milestone underscores our ongoing commitment to protecting sensitive information, maintaining robust cybersecurity practices, and meeting the highest standards required to support our partners in the defense and federal sectors.

What Is CMMC Level 1 Security Compliance?

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a comprehensive framework developed by the DoD to ensure that contractors and subcontractors handling Federal Contract Information (FCI) maintain adequate security measures to safeguard this data. CMMC introduces multiple maturity levels, from Level 1 (“Foundational”) to Level 5 (“Advanced/Progressive”), each building on the prior level’s practices and processes.

CMMC Level 1, also known as Foundational, represents the first and most essential tier of compliance. It focuses on the implementation of basic safeguarding requirements as outlined in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.204-21. At this level, organizations must demonstrate the ability to perform 17 key cybersecurity practices, including:

  • Controlling access to systems and data
  • Protecting devices and networks from unauthorized use
  • Identifying and reporting security incidents
  • Maintaining secure configurations
  • Regularly updating and patching systems to mitigate vulnerabilities

Achieving Level 1 demonstrates that an organization has established the foundational security measures necessary to protect FCI from unauthorized disclosure or access — a critical expectation for any company doing business with the U.S. government.

Why This Achievement Matters

By earning CMMC Level 1 compliance, Cogility reinforces its dedication to maintaining a secure digital environment and protecting sensitive government information. This certification is not only a validation of our existing cybersecurity standards but also a reflection of our company’s proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.

For our customers and partners, this milestone means they can have complete confidence that Cogility’s systems and processes meet federal standards for cybersecurity. It demonstrates that we have verified, documented, and implemented the required controls to safeguard information shared in the course of our collaborations with the Department of War and other government entities.

Benefits for Cogility and Our Customers

Obtaining CMMC Level 1 compliance strengthens our ability to participate in defense-related contracts and projects, ensuring Cogility remains a trusted and compliant partner within the U.S. defense industrial base. Beyond meeting contractual obligations, this certification enhances our overall cybersecurity posture — protecting not only government data but also our proprietary systems and client information.

For our clients, this translates to greater trust, reliability, and assurance. Whether working on critical defense programs or delivering cutting-edge analytics and operational solutions, Cogility’s CMMC compliance affirms that every engagement is backed by verified security practices and a culture of accountability.

A Commitment to Continuous Security Excellence

Achieving CMMC Level 1 is an important step — but it’s not the final destination. Cybersecurity is a continuous journey, and Cogility remains committed to evolving our security measures, training our teams, and adopting best practices as the threat landscape changes. As we continue to grow and serve our federal and defense partners, Cogility will strive toward higher levels of CMMC certification and beyond.
